About a year ago, I got two teeth taken care of at a dentist’s office. Both of the teeth were given root canals and caps. I have had both root canals and steel caps done before, but these didn’t feel the same. It took a long time for the caps to feel “normal” on my teeth; I kept sensing that they didn’t fit right. I was told not to worry; the caps would last me for a long time.
Soon after, the cap on one of the teeth fell off. I had to go to the dentist’s office and have it put back on. Although I was told that the two teeth wouldn’t hurt after the root canals, I have been having intermittent pain in both of them.
Well, I was eating at a party last night, and the cap on the other tooth came off. When I felt something hard in my mouth, I assumed it was a bad piece of food and I threw it away. I then realized that the cap of my tooth had been in there. But, my friends told me not to embarass myself by digging in the host’s trash can, so I didn’t retrieve the cap.
I think the dentist’s office did these procedures wrong. Do you think they will at least mold me a new cap for free, since this appears to be their fault? Or should I just go somewhere else, since they don’t seem to be doing things correctly? Read the rest of this entry »

I heard some women after breast feeding get a cosmetic surgery that basically re-inflates their boobs. Any knowledge on this? Read the rest of this entry »

I’m twenty years old and I recently had my first dental visit since I was twelve. I know my teeth aren’t the best. For starters, I have a filling in my back jaw tooth that came out, and part of that tooth broke. I have a visible cavity in another jaw tooth, and to top it off, my wisdom teeth came in all at once and pushed my teeth forward so now only my top and bottom wisdom teeth touch.
When I visited the dentist yesterday, I was terrified. The only reason I haven’t gone in so long is b/c I have a terrible fear of dentists. Well, just as I feared, the dentist told me to lay off the soft drinks and start brushing my teeth twice a day. I told him that I only drink water and brush three times a day, but rarely floss (all true). He looked like he didn’t believe me, and also it turns out that I have some sort of gum disease!
What is the most efficient way to take care of my teeth? I mean, despite the damage that’s already done. I do eat sweets, but no sugary drinks, lots of water, I brush three times a day, and I’m going to start flossing regularly.
What else should I do? Read the rest of this entry »

In the UK, how much roughly does it cost to have a root canal done privately? I don’t have a regular dentist but I had a toothache about 6 weeks ago and saw an emergency dentist who fixed that tooth but says I need a LOT of work done on my teeth…..I have a lot of cavities (9!) which need filled, but he can’t do them because he only does emergency cases. Yes, I know it’s terrible having so many cavities, but I’ve avoided the dentist completely for 10 years because I’ve been too scared to go.
Anyway, I don’t start working until August, so I can’t afford to get all the work done until then, when I plan to register with a private dentist. But I have one tooth at the minute which is bothering me, sharp pains with lingering sensitivity to cold things, and people I’ve spoken to have said I probably need a root canal.
I don’t think I can leave this tooth until August, it’s getting more painful now, so I was wondering how much it would cost just to get this one tooth taken care of? Read the rest of this entry »

I’m 13, and I’ve only lost 4 baby teeth. My teeth are positively terrible. My dentist says it’s not my fault because I take care of my teeth, but it’s just the way I was made. All of my teeth are crooked and my front teeth look like buck teeth. I try to close my mouth except for when I talk, but (like every other girl) i laugh alot, and i show my teeth. its incredibly unattractive! my teeth are so bad, I can’t even get braces until I’m 16! I need help!!! Read the rest of this entry »

I have white teeth but I want them brighter (like the celebrity’s teeth), and I was wondering what would you prefer, taking good care of your teeth (I was planning on buying a $200 SoniCare toothbrush) or using those whitestrips, trays, etc.?
I already have a $20 Oral-B toothbrush. I brush in the morning with Crest VividWhite toothpaste from 1.5~3 minutes and after that I use Crest Whitening mouthwash for 1 minute. Before going to sleep, I brush my teeth with Crest VividWhite Night toothpaste from 1.5~3 minutes and after that I use Crest Glide Floss with Scope on all my teeth, then I use the Crest Whitening mouthwash for 1 minute.
