Cosmetic Surgery In Africa? Is It Worth It…?
I’m not after some cheap dodgie thing the only reason i’m asking this question is because it was suggested to me my a woman who is from Africa. She said that for around $3000 you can go over to Africa get breast implants stay there for recovery & come home. This woman has fantastic breasts herself that she got done while she was living in Africa. I just want some more information & personal experiences would be fantastic. Thank you
Elective surgery (especially for cosmetic reasons) at incredibly cheap prices is ALWAYS a good idea to have conducted in a foreign country where the laws and standards aren’t what they are in your own country. What could possibly go wrong?
She was probably South African. South Africa – Africa. Very big difference. Private medical care in South Africa is absolutely first class, it is by some orders better than in the U.K, for example, where I also lived. More and more people are discovering the excellent value cosmetic tourism down here.
South Africa and Africa is not the same thing. Keep in mind that SA was the first country to successfully conduct a human heart transplant, at a time when American surgeons were in a frantic race to do it first. South Africa (along with Russia) was also among the first countries to procedurally correct near sightedness. My wife had it done here. When we were in the U.K people couldn’t believe she was once an extreme near sighted person wearing thick glasses, who had it fixed just like that, in a light operation. Don’t want to expose her whole pedigree, but she also had a cosmetic operation here, which was a huge success.
Also, private medical care in South Africa, is not the same thing as state hospitals, in case you sea news reports deploring the sorry state of affairs in state hospitals. Your package will make use of private hospitals, so no need to worry. Even state hospitals used to be excellent, but they are being neglected by government, which is sad.
Sorry, not going to do your research for you, but here’s one linkhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medical_tou…
You can also google “johannesburg breast implants” or “cape town breast implants” or something like that, and then email to contact a surgeon. Johannesburg and Cape Town are two of the big and sophisticated cities in South Africa, where you’ll be able to find many options.
Laws and standards in this country are very high, even anally so. It is incredibly difficult for a “fly by night” surgeon to operate here. If that is they case, I can assure you, they’ll have to operate completely under the legal radar, and they won’t work in a chain that has a website. Doctors here know they can be scrapped from the role and sued bankrupt if they mess up. Most surgeons here have international experience in other first world environments. Many medical schools here (Free State University, Wits, UCT) are world renowned, and their graduates are found in Canada, Australia, Europe and the US.
For these reasons I’d definitely recommend SA over other countries often considered for your intended purpose.
It’s also an incredibly nice country to spend time in.
