I am a single mother of 2 children that is stuck on government insurance (which doesnt cover dental care) as I am putting myself through school & don’t have any insurance & when I did they don’t cover “pre-existing conditions.” My teeth are so bad that I cant even sleep at night…I barely eat because it hurts too bad!!! Im barely scraping by & am in EXCRUCIATING pain with my teeth day after day. I had a consult done & they said that I have about $10K or more in damage! I have never done hard drugs in my life & i take good care of my teeth but they are so bad anyway…I don’t know what to do but I am so tired of suffering in excruciating pain every day!!! PLEASE HELP!!!

I know this is nasty but a girl in my school had really terrible looking teeth and her gums are all red and swollen. I have really bad teeth too but it’s cuz I don’t have enamel on mine. They were that way when they came in. She just don’t never take care of hers and I told her all her teeth will be falling out before we get to high school, but she don’t believe me. Anybody know if I’m right or is she? oh yeah, they’re her adult teeth I’m pretty sure cuz we’re both 12.

The vet is top of the line and provides excellent care but my question is really – are rotten teeth really so bad in an old cat? Should I just leave them “as is” or should I pay this amount to have the bad teeth extracted and the infected teeth treated? How old is really old for a cat? Is she at the maximum at 15?

Are teeth not important to them? I know that most people there have money for proper dental care. I’ve seen Brits with bad teeth time and time again. But like i said, STEREOTYPICALLY. I know not all of them have bad teeth!

What is it if you have horrible teeth you always have problems with? You brush, you floss, and to no avail, they still suck. What is the deal? Can it just be genetics or something?

NO DISRESPECT INTENDED!!! I was married to a Brit so I am obviously not putting them down. I was wondering because my ex-husband does have VERY bad teeth though he takes good care of them as far as brushing and flossing. Now our son has the same discoloration and I am wondering if this is a deficiancy or if there is some truth to this and it could be hereditary. He is 8 and his teeth are turning yellow and look a little thin though he recently visited the dentist and brushes well twice a day. His hair is very thick and lusterous though.

Google some images for bad teeth, you could see what could happen if you don’t take care of your teeth. And I can tell you from personal experience, that I spent half of sept. and half of oct. going to the dentist every friday to get my mouth back in good shape. They had to pull 11 damaged teeth, I had 5 fillings done and I couldn’t even tell you how many shots I had. I’m going back on the 14th for a cleaning and their going to make a mold so they can make a partial to fill in where all my back teeth are missing. So, if I haven’t scared you by now. The total cost of all this will be $5000+. That and not to mention all the pain I had to go through. But I put myself in this position and the dentist said that if I didn’t take care by brushing and flossing twice a day I would be back in the same position with in a year. And now, my teeth are weaker and more prone to cavities. So please, please, please, take care of your teeth. A little preventative maintenance can go a long way.

My friends teeth is so bad they are not in regular shapes and he has bad breath. Well he brushes his teeth well but aint no change.

I’ve heard that because of universal health care there, they can’t get their teeth worked on unless it’s some kind of dental emergency. Is there truth to this?
If no, then why?

I know it’s not good…but there are people I know that I am genuinely concerned about and I’ve heard that it can be bad for your health when you do not take care of your teeth. I know someone who doesn’t ever get their teeth cleaned let alone even go to a dentist their whole life. The teeth are pretty gross and they have bad breath. I love them dearly, but do I say anything?
