I’m very interested in having a very healthy mouth. I do have few minor gaps which I will be undergoing treatment with Invisalign in a week or two.
I want to keep my teeth forever til’ the day I die…so how?
Is it okay to brush my teeth more than 3 times a day? More the better? I ask cause I would brush can brush them like 4-5 times I day..when i wake up, sleep and before and after meals.
So how can I have healthy gums too?
I’m currently 18 years of age and have had like 1 cavity my whole life.
The only problem a dentist has ever told me what that i grind my teeth so ive been concious about it and try not to anymore.
I used to smoke a little weed like once a week for 3 months but have stopped because i care more about my mouth.
I dont think any soda, just water…well, also juices and stuff like that.No candy.
Also…i heard that using mouthwash is just as effective as using floss except getting food stuck between teeth out…but in terms of killing germs and all yea.

I have several missing teeth special in front i am embarrsed especailly with my kids and there friends say your mom is missing teeth makes me sad. I can arrange paymnet of $50 amonth but most dentist want a credit card or another way to secure the payment my word apparently doesn’t matter. I rarely smile anymore can’t take good pictures with kids i do not smile confendese level is very low.

A few times now i have heard about the brits and there so called dental care, we all have 1 or 2 teeth left and there falling out.

i turned 18 2 years ago since then i am without dental care, i need to take care of my teeth until i can get an insurance back up again. and meanwhile what should i do

I am wondering what they really think about their clients that don’t take care of their teeth and they have to go in with the heavy equiptment to clean gross teeth?

We don’t have much income, we have small amount of SS and then income from Dad’s job but no dental insurance because it didn’t really even cover anything. I think it was like 10%? My teeth are in pretty bad shape. I take care of them but not being able to go to the dentist for 4-5 years is not the greatest. What can I do? How can I get help paying for dentist?

My best friends teeth are in need of dental care and she doesnt’ have good credit or dental insurance. I know that hospitals care for people with no money on t.v. all the time, but what does someone like her do? Gingivitis refers to an ailment in the gums. It basically refers to the inflammation in the gums, causing the gums to become tender and swollen. In such a condition, the gums have a tendency of bleeding very easily even while brushing the teeth.

Plaque refers to the sticky material in the teeth that is made up of mucus, food debris and bacteria, which develops over the uncovered portions of one’s teeth. Plaque is the basic reason for tooth decay, if you do not remove it on a regular basis, and it forms into a stiff deposit known as tartar, which gets trapped in the base of your teeth. Both tartar and plaque inflame and irritate the gums. The toxins and bacteria produced by them causes your gums to become tender, infected and swollen.

Apart from these, injury or damage to your gums in any form, including forceful brushing or flossing of the teeth may result in gingivitis.

There are a number of factors that can increase your risk of developing gingivitis such as:

- Bad dental hygiene – General illness – Pregnancy as changes in hormones could raise sensitivity of your gums. – Uncontrolled diabetes

Prevention is the only way out

Preventing this condition from taking place is the best cure. It is something that could be easily avoided with a little bit of effort from your part. This involves the following:

- Good and regular oral hygiene is the most essential and the basic step towards preventing the disease. This is so because maintaining cleanliness of your teeth would remove the plaque and would not let it deposit at the base.

- You should at least brush your teeth twice a day and make sure that you gently floss them once everyday.

- For those who are susceptible to the disease are advised to floss as well as brush their teeth after each meal and also before going to bed.

- Special tools and appliances such as toothpicks, electric toothbrushes, water irrigation and other such devices are recommended by the dentists in particular for those who have a tendency of getting plaque deposited in their teeth.

- Anti-tartar and anti-plaque toothpastes along with mouth rinses also recommended by the dentists in severe cases.

All the above things are extremely important for your perfect dental hygiene. If the ailment becomes serious then you must visit your dentist before it is too late.
