Okay, first off, I am twenty years old. During my childhood, I had lousy dental care, and in middle school my dentist was a quack. He gave me a root canal and never filled it so part of my tooth broke off and it’s hollow! Not only that, I have 2 visible cavities and my wisdom teeth are coming in!
I’ll admit that in elementary school I didn’t take care of my teeth the best that I should, but once I got to middle school, I tried really well, and started brushing 2 or my times a day once I turned fourteen.
I don’t eat a lot of sugar, I’m vegetarian, and only drink water (I NEVER drink soda). I think I just have week anamel(?) or something.
I’m going to the dentist soon, and I’m worried that he/she will scold me and accuse me of not taking care of my teeth when I do. I guess it’s my fear of dentists that’s getting to me, and I haven’t been since I was about thirteen…
Any ways to overcome this fear?

I am very embarrassed by this and am scared of what the dentist might say to me when I do finally conquer the fear and just go! I’ve lost most of my molars and suffer from frequent tooth aches that are so severe, I can barely sleep at night without a gallon of oragel. Someone please help! I need advice!

I am not able to have a dentist so i was wondering what i can do about my teeth being real yellow. I dont neglect them just obviously havent cared for them properly but anyway what really effective ways are out there that would maybe help me out? thanks!

I brush twice a day and floss but I still get cavities and have gum problems. I didn’t have insurance for like, ever, but I still took care of them even though I couldn’t go to a dentist. What the heck did people back in the day do without dentists & why do I have these problems???

I was afraid he was going to be able to tell that I’ve been purging but today the dentist said my teeth were in great condition, better than usual! (I do take good care of them besides the purging. I brush twice a day, use mouthwash, floss and use a enamel repairing paste afterward)
Can anyone explain this to me? Because it really doesn’t make any sense. I thought purging was going to ruin my teeth.
*I’m trying to stop purging, so, please no lectures, I know it’s bad for me and everything.

the build up was not fully taken care of … but i have slacked off a little and now one teeth been flaring up with pain and i do not know from bad tooth or from grinding which i figured out i have been doing…

Without doing anything cosmetic like veneers and stuff? My teeth are really straight…thankfully it was something that just happened naturally and my parents didn’t have to cough up the cash for braces. However, how do you get the teeth to be that white and the gums to be that pink and healthy looking? How do you pinken your gums? Also can you do this without having to spend a ton of money at the dentist? I do take care of my teeth and get regular cleanings but I just feel I can do more to make my teeth healthier. Also, it probably sounds really shallow but I am getting ready to start a new career in which I will constantly be dealing with new clients and I really want to pep up my teeth and smile. I just think your smile says about you.:-)

Besides brushing and flossing, anything more I can do? I recently got whitening rinse as well and it seems to have helped a little actually. Are whitening strips something I should look into? I’ve heard stories about those being painful…not really into pain.

Ok, so I dont have really white teeth, they are kind of yellow, I smoke, so could that be the problem? but how would I be able to get them back to white, like really white? do I need to go to a dentist or something? and does sooner care cover dental costs?
