If You Can’t Afford A Dentist, Then What’s The Best Way To Take Care Of Your Teeth?
Besides brushing and flossing, anything more I can do? I recently got whitening rinse as well and it seems to have helped a little actually. Are whitening strips something I should look into? I’ve heard stories about those being painful…not really into pain.
If you’re brushing and flossing then that’s the most important part right there, but I guess you could also add a fluoride rinse once a day. I’m not sure if you can buy those little tablets you chew to see where plaque is accumulating on your teeth (you know, like the ones the dentist has you chew and they make your teeth all red in certain spots)…but if you could buy some of those it might help to show you the spots you’re missing when you brush. As for whitening, I just read something about this:http://www.celebritysexyteeth.com/
Not sure if it works, but I’ve heard good things about it and it supposedly causes no pain (ignore the part about the “free shipping if you order today”, though, they apparently offer that every day).
From experience: Floss/proxibrush and brush your teeth after every meal. Twice a day rinse with hydrogen peroxide before you brush. This will actually help reduce plaque, loosen food (particularly meat products) particles between the teeth, and help reduce gum bleeding. Also use an antiseptic mouth wash regularly. Some say brush your tongue but while I have no problem with the concept, my gag reflex kicks in and I can’t do it. Use a fluoride toothpaste.
If you don’t have insurance, look into getting a medical card, it covers all your doctor visits, hospital bills, dentist, Braces, medication [perscribed to you.]
It’s pretty much for people who don’t have the money to get this stuff.
Im not sure how you get one…but im sure if you look it up, or ask another question about it, then someone else who has it will answer it.

Best of luck to you.
A sonic care tooth brush can help, a lot. Use it twice a day and the dentist might think you had a cleaning recently… at least that’s what I’ve heard from some peoples experience. They’re kind of expensive though
I would stick to good brushing and good flossing. also use mouthwash.
go to a dental school or clinic
