Brushing Teeth Question?
Hi! I have a question about brushing teeth. I brush my teeth everyday, usually after every meal. It’s a habit I’ve gotten into after having braces, it feels good to brush. However, I don’t floss. Is that a bad thing? I’ll admit I’ve become a little paranoid lately about my teeth care. I’ve been hearing about my friends having to get wisdom teeth removed some had cavities, others had to go to the dentist just for checkups. Either way, the dentist was never really brought up – and then ALL of a sudden everyone has to go. I haven’t really been to a normal dentist in awhile.
A few months back I went to the people, the orthodontists, who did my braces. I come now and then for them to check my teeth and see how my retainer is doing(Which thankfully, I only have to wear at night).
However, I haven’t really been to a normal dentist in awhile. I don’t know if they’d had told me when I came if anything was wrong. I have been worrying way to much. Anyone else feel the same way?
Brushing your teeth only cleans 40% of the tooth surfaces…you must floss!
Even if the dentist did say you had a cavity you don’t have to do anything about it.
Before you start flossing (everyday) go to see a hygienist and get your teeth professionally cleaned, they use ultrasonic to clean the tooth surface and between the teeth because when plaque gets between the teeth and it isn’t flossed out it gets hard and is called tartar or calculus…only a hygienist can clean the tartar out. If you start flossing now you’ll only be getting out soft plaque. I swear you’ll feel so so clean afterwards.
Aww stop being so worried! Brushing straight after a meal is bad as it can remove enamel softended by acid in the food, wait at least half an hour. Only floss if you’re shown how to as it can potentially damage your gums. See your dentist and ask for some oral health leaflets
you must floss! floss daily. but wisdom teeth are usually removed cuz of crowding or other non-cavity related issues. though, if you can’t reach to brush them, they can get cavities. you should get a check up! but stop worrying.
