enough to eat, instead of also brushing my teeth all times, and flosing. When i wasn’t working,I was able to take care of my teeth, and I also had a nutrionist.I would like to be able to eat enough to get through the day,and also take care of my teeth.I’m supposed to see my dentist, but right now,I can’t afford to take the time off,and even if I was able to afford to take time off,I’d be embarrased for them to see my teeth.I have some cavaties coming back again, just like when I first saw my dentist a year or two ago.Any suggestions?

First things first, change your diet. Avoid soda, acid foods, and sugars.
Stop snacking.
Those are the main causes of your decay.
Secondly, take care of cavities before they get worse. They eventually because more difficult to fix and also more expensive.
Brush and floss properly every night before bed. When you sleep your salivary flow decreases so that is necessary to avoid cavities.
Use high fluoride toothpaste to remineralize your teeth.
Avoid the calcium comments. Enamel doesn’t strengthen with any ingested liquids. Fluoride in water only helps growing teeth inside gums. Milk is an acidic food so avoid contact with teeth. Use a straw instead.

Don’t worry about being embarassed for the dental professional to see your teeth. Believe me all the dentists I have worked for have seen just about everything and the people who worry like you are aren’t really all that bad. We’re here to help people and educate them (not judge them) believe or not people do have other things in life happening that put teeth and health on the back burner. I know you said time was tough but as far as finances go try the local dental schools (in Denver for cleanings and dental work or Pueblo for cleanings only). Its time consuming but costs a lot less and you get great work done (it is checked out every step of the way).

First, brush and floss your teeth just before you go to bed. It doesn’t take a lot of time and it will improve your attitude about your teeth.
Second, as soon as you can, make an appointment with your dentist. Believe me, no matter how bad your teeth are they’ve seen worse — far, far worse.

Dental Hygienist who are working towards a degree or certification need people to practice x-rays, and teeth cleaning on. They provide these services free of change. You might want to look at your local Community College or Business College. To see when they offer these services.

Sounds like you have weaker enamel if you get cavities that easily. Start drinking alot more milk to get the calcium in your body which will help some. After you brush and floss, be sure and use Listerine (my dentist recommends this over others because it kills germs the best) and then use ACT to help strengthen the enamel. Do not eat or drink anything after you have used the ACT or it won’t work as well.
Eat more fruits and vegetables and buy OsCal with Vitamin D so you can get more calcium into your body. You need the D to help absorb the calcium properly.
If your dentist doesn’t have variable hours, find one that does so you can go regularly and not have problems like this. You can always carry a collapsible toothbrush (travel size) and use it when you go to the bathroom at work. You may not be able to floss but twice a day (morning and night) but at least you can brush.
Stay away from sugary foods or foods that stick to your teeth (caramel, etc) and start chewing gum after you eat so it can work the food off your teeth after you eat and create more saliva which will also help fight tooth decay. After you have chewed the gum, use the Listerine Breath Strips to help fight cavities while you are at work.
You can also buy the flossing picks (next to the floss) so you can use that when you go to the bathroom after you have eaten. They are a little bigger than a toothpick but I’d only use it if you know something is stick between your teeth as it can wear the enamel off your teeth if you use them all the time.
Quit worrying about being embarrassed when you go to the dentist or you will end up losing all your teeth from lack of care. I had a dentist back home who had hours set from 7a to 7p and they (3 dentists) were open on Saturdays so try to find someone like that so you can try to go more regularly.

A quick suggestion for during work hours, after you eat, even a snack, swish with water to get rid of the sugar that may be on your teeth. Anything with carbs in it will cause cavities. Sugar free gum also will help out. Also, try switching to sugar free soda or something like crystal light. Soda is a HUGE cause of cavities.
And dont be embarrassed about going to the dentist. It is our job to take care of you, not judge you. If you are making an honest effort and want to take care of your teeth, they will respect that and maybe have some ideas or tools to help you out. Also, try picking up some of the flossers from the drug store. I find that men floss more often and easier with them. No sticking your fingers in your mouth or cutting off your circulation in your fingers!!

As long as you are brushing your teeth in the morning when you get up, and brushing your teeth in the evening when you go to bed, and flossing at that time, you should be doing wonders for your teeth. May I also suggest fruits, veggies, and of course calcium. Teeth are bones you know. Make sure you are brushing well, where you know the cavities are, and make sure you are definitely flossing in those areas. It will help slow the decaying process. Just so you know, I am sure they are seen worse teeth than yours if it is just a few cavities. Have you ever seen someone who does meth? Now thier teeth are disgusting. Believe me!
