Caring For Baby Teeth?

My son is 14 months (15 in 2 days). I use the Grins N Giggles tooth cleanser with the little finger brush to clean his teeth. The cleanser is safe for him to swallow. My question is when can I go to a toothbrush? Is there a toothpaste that is safe to swallow or do I keep using this kind of cleanser until he is old enough to spit the toothpaste out?
Thanks!

You can go ahead and switch to a tooth brush now but don’t use toothpaste with flouride until age 2 at least, but better yet until he can spit it out.

I would keep using the Grins and Giggles toothpaste until he’s able to spit it out, or use the kid toothpaste they have. I use the grins and giggles on my 6 month olds 2 teeth. LOL

we use kids toothpaste with floride in it becuz we don’t have it in our water here. but it usually doesn’t matter if they swollow some becuz there’s not enough of anything to hurt them in the small amount they get while brushing. we’ve used a toothbrush from the beginning to get him used to it. i’d suggest starting to use a kids toothbrush with him right away. good luck
