Hydrocodone And Teeth. Does Long Term Use Of This Pain Medication Cause Your Teeth To Weaken?

I have been on Hydrocodone/vicodin for 6 years due to a shoulder injury, and in the past 3 years I have had to have 8 teeth pulled, I take care of my teeth like im supposed too, but they seem to just be so weak and thin, they break easily….? does anyone know if this could be due to the pain pills? I also take Methocarbonal (muscle relaxer)

i am a studying dentistry and yes unfortunately if wears away at the enamel of the tooth which softens the tooth and gives you less protection and this can mean that your teeth have to be pulled out of you cavities very easily or your teeth are very fragile and chip, break or crack very easily. You can visit your dentist and ask him about veneers which are put on the teeth to help protect them but you cannot see them they look like your real teeth
you can buy enamel protect tooth paste that you use instead of normal toothpaste and that might help.
hope this helped
if it’s a real problem ask if you can come of the medication or get some veneers fitted
good luck
