Can An Overbite In Your Teeth Cause Headaches Later In Life If You’ve Had It Since Childhood?

I have always had an overbite and they’ve tried different appliances to pull my jaw forward, as well as, rubber bands on my braces. All of these things were tried during childhood and I am now 31 years old and I get horrible headaches. My jaw pops alot and I still have this overbite as all of those methods failed. Also, my jaw seems to ache alot of the time (sortof a tense feeling). Any ideas where I should begin with taking care of this issue?

Any misalignment of the teeth can cause headaches. The “hinge” of your jaw can be the cause- the temporal mandibular joint sounds like it has some problems. It is referred to as your TMJ. Perhaps seeing a dentist again and possibly an orthodontist could help. Anti-inflammatories may relieve inflammation.

It can cause huge headaches. Headaches so big you can die from them. Trust me. I’ve been a dentist for 15 years..

I would imagine it could give quite a few girls a headache. To begin taking care of this issue, I suggest contacting a lamp store.
