How Often Should You Have Your Teeth Cleaned By The Hygienist.?

I have a lot of crowns, both cosmetic and therapeutic. My dentist requires me to go 3x a year. I brush and floss twice daily and use listerine. Is this requirement excessive, or standard dental care. My insurance only covers a small portion of it.

I go every 6 months. It has been that way for all the dentists I have been to. Many insurance plans cover every 6 months.

I’ve never heard of anyone going more than every 6 months for a cleaning. My insurance pays 100% for cleaning twice a year.

I say every 6 months unless you have other problems like you have lots of dental work done then maybe he is telling you the truth. My dentist says twice a year.

Oh wow, I go twice a year….that is what everyone I know goes, @ 6 months.

Because of your crowns, that may be the reason for the 3x a year. Most people go twice a year though.

2x a year is you minimum for your dental care. You seem to have pretty good dental health.
