Is It True That British People Have Bad Teeth Because They Have Universal Health Care?

I’ve heard that because of universal health care there, they can’t get their teeth worked on unless it’s some kind of dental emergency. Is there truth to this?
If no, then why?

No – this is just right wing scare propaganda. Traditionally teeth weren’t as important in Britain as they are here in the states – so people didn’t get them fixed. Tooth brushes were only sold in Britain since the 1950′s.
It’s just like here in the US – guns aren’t important to us – so everybody gets guns and there’s thousands of murders – and these murders DON’T occur in Britain. It’s just differences between the cultures.
BUT we do take care of our teeth!

Man I dunno, but I always wondered why their teeth are so ugly and jacked up. I realized this when watching the American version of The Office, and then I watched the original version the UK version of The Office. and I was like DAMN! i wanted to give them whitening strips braces and toothpaste.

Insurance is not an excuse as to why one should not care for their teeth.
Brushing and flossing properly goes a long way.
