I Had Two Lower Wisdom Teeth Removed 28 Hours Ago. Any Tips On Home Care, Like Brushing?

I’m taking an antibiotic until Friday. The pain is easily tolerable, so I am no longer taking painkillers. They gave me nausea and I threw up last night.
It really hurts to brush, as I can only reach the front ones. I can’t open my mouth too much, but I have already noticed improvement from this morning. I am brushly extremely gently, but will that minimize the good it will do?
I’m rinsing with salt water too. Is the saltier the water the better? I’m 16, and my mom put in extra salt, but I really hate the taste. I made my own following instructions in a pamphlet: 1 teaspoon per warm glass.
Am I out of the danger zone? I think I’m healing pretty well, as I’ve been sleeping a lot, totalling 13-14 hours a day.
Any responses are appreciated. Thanks for your advice!

Did you ask the Oral Surgeon how to take care of the area?
You do not need to brush the area where the wisdom teeth were removed since there are no longer teeth to brush there!
Using salt water is a ++
You can also try a very diluted hydrogen peroxide solution to use like you do the salt water.
If the area is swollen, use an icebag to place on the cheeks. It’s good you got off of the painkillers. If there is still some pain, take Ibuprophen.
Stay away from spicy or very hot foods. I would suggest eating soft foods for a few days.
It sounds like you are doing really well after 28 hours!
I wouldn’t be too concerned about sleeping this much–your body is healing.

Do not knock out the blood clots or you can get a dry socket. Gently brush, it is great if you have a childs extra soft tooth brush for the area around the extraction site. Be careful what you eat as things with pieces can get down in the holes. This can cause infections. If you notice a foul taste or start hurting really bad see your doctor right away.

Having the salt water at just the right salinity is very important. To find out more on wisdom teeth surgery and post operative care following wisdom teeth removal go to http://www.dentalimplantsaustralia.com/

The saltwater rinse will be really good for you until you feel comfortable enough to brush. That’s the best you can do that I know of short of physical brushing to your teeth while your jaws heal up.
You should have a followup appointment scheduled soon for the dentist to check on the extraction. If you feel as good as you say, then odd are great you’ll be just fine and back to eating anything you want very soon. I think I was back to normal in a week after mine came out.
