Wisdom Teeth Just Removed… Follow Up Care Questions?

I just got my wisdom teeth removed about an hour ago, and I have a few questions about the follow up care I should do?
-How often should I change the gauze pads in my mouth?
- Should I sleep with them in or will I choke?
- when will the numbness go away?
-will i still be bleeding tomorrow morning?
- how swollen will my face be in the morning?
Please help??

Bite down on the gauze pad with pressure for 20 minutes and replace with fresh ones. After a few hours the bleeding should be 90% stopped. Depending on what the anesthetic used was you will be numb for another 2 to 8 hours. Usually the lower stays numb longer. There might be some very slight bleeding in the am and if your saliva is just alittle pink when you spit out, don’t be alarmed. If a gauze pad still shows alot of blood soaking in, call your dentist. Swelling will depend on how difficult they were to remove but some swelling is to be expected for a few days.

when i had my wisdom teeth removed i came home and took out the gauze and never put any more in. the smell of it just turns my stomach that i cant stand it. idk about the numbness. i didnt have any when i woke up from having mine taken out. you shouldnt be bleeding in the morning but if you are if should just be a little bit. and it takes a full 3 days after the surgery to become fully swollen. i can not stress how important it is to get an ice pack on your face NOW. go to bed with it. thats what i did..after i was already swollen though. because i didnt think i would swell any. and when the 3rd day came i looked awful. it took me almost 3 weeks for my face to be completely unswollen.

I hope you feel better soon! I’m sorry to say this but it will probably be sore for a while. It will probably be oober swollen tomorrow too. I remember when my sister got her wisdom teeth pulled out, her face was so swollen she looked like a chipmunk.
